Get More Vits Partner with Water Unite to End Water Poverty

Get More Vits has partnered with Water Unite in an effort to tackle global water scarcity. 

Water Unite is a global non-profit working to provide clean water for people and planet. They bring together corporate partners to generate micro-contributions from products to address the funding gaps in the water sector. 

Over 750 million people have to rely on unsafe water sources, 3.4 million people die each year from water related diseases, and 52% of the world’s population will live in water-stressed regions by 2050 if the climate continues to deteriorate. Access to clean water is a basic human right. 

Get More Vits will adopt Water Unite's voluntary micro-contribution initiative, making a donation for every bottle of Get More Vits sold in Co-op stores. These proceeds will help fund water projects that will significantly transform access to clean water.

One of the projects the funding will support is Jibu, a franchise network that now works across 8 countries in East Africa. In a mission to offset water poverty and water contamination across Africa, Jibu use solar-powered technology to purify water and distribute this across 7,500 retail points, allowing consumers to purchase safe drinking water at an affordable price. Furthermore, this project provides opportunities within the communities for entrepreneurship and jobs. To date, it has created 1070 jobs, of which 17% are filled by women.
